Dr. Thomas William Innes
Garland - Funeral services for Dr. Thomas William Innes, 58, prominent Garland dentist and civic worker who died at the family home in Garland Thursday at 4:40 p.m. after a short illness, will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in Garland LDS ward chapel by Charles J. Wood, bishop.
Burial will be in the Garland cemetery, directed by the Shaw and Iverson funeral home of Tremonton.
Dr. Innes was born in Paris, Idaho, on March 25, 1884, to Charles W. and Mary Ann Bird Innes. He was reared and educated in Paris, Idaho, and when 20 years old, he fulfilled a two-year mission for the LDS church in Belfast, Ireland.
After returning from his mission he attended George Washington university in Washington, D.C., where he was graduated in dental surgery.
He married Mary Grover in the Salt Lake LDS temple on August 21, 1912, and the couple made their home at Garland where Dr. Innes had since practiced dentistry. He was a former member of the Garland town board and a past member of the Garland Lions club.
Surviving, besides his widow, are the following sons and daughters; Mrs. Hazel Johnson of Tremonton, Mrs. Beth Cannon of Seattle, Wash.; Barbara Innes of Salt Lake City, and Reed and Marilyn Innes of Garland; also a grandchild and four sisters, Mrs. Margaret I. Norton, Mrs. Edna Shepherd and Mrs. Orteil Gayle of Ogden, and Mrs. Blanche Bateman of Bloomington, Idaho.
Friends may call at the family home in Garland Saturday evening and Sunday until time of services.
