HERE LIE "YELLOW JACKET JOHN BAILEY" 1798-1887 SON OF ANSEL BAILEY & ELIZABETH BRADLEY, PIONEERS FROM LITTLE KINGS CREEK IN WILKES COUNTY, (NOW CALDWELL COUNTY), AND WIFE LOVADA "LOVELY" RAY 1805, 10-22-1898 DAUGHTER OF HIRAM RAY & ELIZABETH COX.

IN 1914 "YELLOW JACKET JOHN BAILEY" DEEDED 100 ACRES TO THE NEWLY FORMED YANCEY COUNTY COMMISSIONERS FOR WHICH THE TOWN SQUARE IS NAMED IN HIS HONOR. "BAILEY SQUARE"
