Death of W. K. Boggs
Waxhaw, N. C. - Oct. 10
The (Rev.) W.K. Boggs died at his home here last evening, aged 46 years. He was a member of the Mecklenburg Presbyterian Synod, North Carolina, and a native of Pickens County, South Carolina. He was ordained to the ministry by South Carolina Presbytery eight years ago. His first work was in Abbeville County, next Augusta, then Blackstock, York County, where he served as an evangelist for Bethel Presbytery. He came from there here and accepted a pastorate six miles from Waxhaw. He was thoroughly consecrated to his work. Everywhere he preached his labors were wonderfully blessed and his ministerial life was a psalm of triumph. A widow and seven children survive him. The funeral will take place at Liberty, S.C., at 10 o'clock tomorrow (Oct 11) - News and Courier Special.

The burial services were conducted by Revs. J.R. Riley, D.D., and W.H. Workman in the presence of a large concourse of friends and sorrowing relatives. The deceased was a brother of our townsman, Julius E. Boggs.

Death of W.K. Boggs
Rev. W.K. Boggs, formerly evangelist of Bethel presbytery and well-known throughout this and adjoining counties, died at Waxhaw last Friday, after an illness of about two months. He was first attacked by typhoid fever. After becoming convalescent, he took a relapse. Mr. Boggs was a native of Pickens County and resided there until eight years ago, pursuing his occupation as a farmer. He was ordained to the ministry by the South Carolina presbytery almost from the plow handles and as an evangelist did a great deal of earnest and effective work. The members who have been added to the church in this county as the result of his preaching, are numbered by the score. At the time of his death he was only 46 years of age.
