Lela also had a daughter, Fredalynne Schmidlap whom she gave up for adoption when it become clear her health was too serious to raise her. She was very happy and proud to know that her daughter was given to a Lutheran minister and his wife. She named her Patricia Ann Davis and finally Fredalynne was able to learn all of this when she met her father when she was 56. Fredalynne also met her sisters.
