Obituary - "Rodney Truman Garner, age 72, of Willard, OH, formerly of Big Sandy, TN died Sunday December 8, 1991 at James Cancer Hospital of University Hospital, Columbus, OH. Graveside services were held at Crooked Creek Cemetery Saturday, December 14, 1991 at 1:00 p.m. Burial was in Crooked Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Garner was born January 23, 1919 in Big Sandy, TN. His parents, Monroe Mathis Garner and Rosa Pierce Garner preceded him in death.

His wife, Elnora Ruth Kelly Garner also preceded him in death in 1973.

He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Richard Taylor Garner, James Aaron Garner, Grover Thurman Garner, John Mathis Garner and seven sisters, Bonnie Roney, Ruby Grooms, Osa Winters, Gertie Utley, Jewell Biggs, Mallie Hobbs and Beulah Stockdale.

Survivors include three sons, Marc Garner of Willard, OH, Kevin Garner of Willard, OH, and Scott Garner of Bowling Green, KY, two sisters, Marcie Hanes of Evansville, IN and Rebecca McCampbell of Big Sandy, TN, two brothers, Charles Andrew Garner of Camden, TN, Billie Franklin Garner, Evansville, IN, two grandchildren, Bronwyn and Ashton Garner of Illard, OH, one special friend, Lillian Reinke of Homerville, OH.

Mr. Garner retired in 1980 as an engineer for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad after 40 years. He was a member of Brotherhood Locomotive Engineers, VFW and American Legion, WWII Veteran of the Army serving in the Pacific Theatre."
