Born 1832-1833. Emanuel was a laborer (in 1850) and carpenter (1860-1880). He enlisted in the military on 20 Sep 1862 and served in the 18th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment, Co. A, 24th Batallion and Co. G, 3rd Batallion during the Civil War. He was discharged 20 Sep 1865 at the expiration of his term of service at Louisville, New York, as a private. From 1850-1880 the Edwards family lived in Hanover Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. He died of pneumonia, age 67. Death notice in Wilkes-Barre Record, 5 Jun 1899, p. 16.
