Witt Rites Will be Held Tuesday
Peru, Ind., Dec. 22

Mrs. Samantha Josephine (Bundy) Witt, 64, 254 West Ninth Street, wife of John A. Witt and great granddaughter of Frances Slocum, died of a complication of ailments at her home this afternoon. She had been ill for four years.

Mrs. Witt was one of a few persons living in this vicinity who are direct descendants of the Pennsylvania white girl who was stolen by the Indians and became one of the Miami Tribe.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Drake Funeral Home at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Interment will be in Frances Slocum Cemetery, where the famous great grandmother of the deceased is buried. The body was taken to the funeral home, to remain there until after the services.

Survivors include the husband and three children, Ramond(sic) F. Witt, Mrs. Carrie M. Egolf and Richard J. J. Witt, all of Peru, together with seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Born in Wabash County, Feb. 2, 1876, the deceased had been a resident of this vicinity all her life. She was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church and the Royal Neighbors Lodge.
