"James N. EDWARDS, 80, one of Macon County's pioneer citizens and the last of a family of seven children, died at his home in Macon 8 January 1926 following a heart attack. He was born in Randolph County, Mo. 4 December 1845, the son of Garland EDWARDS. He moved to Macon with his parents when but a small boy and has made his home here since following the trade of plaster contractor until about fifteen years ago when he went into the People's Store with his son, Earl EDWARDS. He was married 23 August 1876 to Miss Fannie TOOLE and to that union was born three children, Nolan EDWARDS of Brighton, Colo., Earl EDWARDS and May EDWARDS of Macon, all of whom survive with his wife. He was a member of Pearl Street Methodist church where the funeral was held and interment in Oakwood cemetery."
