Capt. Alva KALIHER was killed in action while serving with the Signal Corps of the II Corps under the command of Major Gen. George S. PATTON, Jr. toward the end of the North Africa campaign. Capt. KALIHER's body was temporarly buried at Hadjeb, El Aioun, Tunisia. On June 29, 1948 his body was reinterred with full military honors at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
