MRS. DECKER DIES IN ELYRIA

MADE AMHERST HER HOME AFTER COMING TO THIS COUNTRY AT AGE OF 10 YEARS

Mrs. Katherine Decker of Elyria, former Amherst resident, died at her late home Wednesday afternoon after suffering a long period of ill health. She was 60 years and 11 months of age at the time of her death and lived in Amherst the greater part of her life.

She was born in Germany and came to this country at the age of 10. After coming to this country she made her home in Amherst. She was previous to her marriage, Katherine Wernert.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Delbert Snavley, of Sandusky, and Mrs. Walter Scott, of Elyria; one son, George, of Elyria; three sisters; Mrs. Mary Hildebrandt, Mrs. Dora Boble of Lorain and Mrs. Elizabeth Jaeger, of Amherst; and one brother, William Wernert, of Amherst. She is also survived by many friends throughout Amherst and vicinity. A son, Albert, was killed in action during the late war in 1918.

The funeral services will be held from the late home in Elyria on Saturday afternoon at 1:30. After the services in Elyria the body will be brought to Amherst, where a short service will be held at the grave. Burial will be made in Crownhill cemetery.
