Hall J. Smith, age 89 of Hendersonville. March 3, 2009. Born February 26, 1920 in Buncomb County, NC. He served in the United States Army during World War II, was a member of the Hendersonville First United Methodist Church, and also was a member of the Hendersonville Masonic Lodge #359. Preceded in death by his son, Larry.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margaret Carter Smith; son, Chaarlie and wife Barbara; grandchildren, Chuck, Kelli, Kyle and Colby; 3 great-grandchildren also survive.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 5, 2009 from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. and on Friday, March 6, 2009 from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, from the Chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers. Interment will be in Hendersonville Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to to the First United Methodist Church Senior Citizens Fund.
