Barney was one of six puppies born to Brandy. He was a perfect Basset Hound in all aspects and was a wonderful dog. I kept Barney because when all of Brandy's puppies were being given away, Brandy seemed lonely and needed another canine to play with, Barney fit the title. I enjoyed 6 years of Barney's company and together he and I would have some great times. He had a deep rough bark that would make windows vibrate and when a siren could be heard passing the house, Barney would howl along with the siren. Like his mother, the last 3 years of Barney's life was spent in Rossville, Georgia where he lived a happy exciting life. Barney had a similar condition like that of his mother in that he developed large tumor-like knots on various areas of his body. He got one knot near the base of his tail and after removing the knot the remaining section of his tail had no muscle support and had to be amputated. He brought a new look to the Basset breed with a short stubby tail and from then on he was nick named "Stubby". Barney's conditioned became worse as the years rolled on and the decision was made to put him down. Barney was put down with his mother so that neither would be without the other. I enjoyed Barney and his deep Basset bark and will always miss him.
