Born 11/11/11, Charles Augustus Bailey was the 2nd Son, and the 5th born, out of 8 children, to John Henry and Kittie Hines Bailey. He was the only one born in Missouri. Probably due to a visit, to his half sister, Leola Cleola Corwin, from his Mother's 1st husband, Archie Ray Cowrin. Leola was staying with family friends there. Or maybe Kittie went there specically for his birth, and to visit her daughter. Charles also has 3 more 1/2 siblings from his Father's 1st marriage to Edith Myrtle Lawrence. John, Myrtie and Ray.
After his birth/visit in/to Missouri, they promptly went back to Kansas. By abt. 1917 the family moved to Colorado.
Charles married 1st, Alice Maybelle Osmun, on Dec 23 1932, in Hugo, Lincoln, Colorado. They had one Son. James Richard Bailey. Alice died 8 days after James's birth. The times were tough enough as it was. And without anyone at home to care for his newborn, merely making a living would have been even tougher. So Alice's Parents gladly adopted James, with much love.
Charles married 2nd, Vera Violet Peterson, on abt. Oct 1938, in Durango, La Plata, Colorado. That is where their 1st daughter was born. Amd he worked as a Truck Driver for the Saw Mill there.
