He was a WWII Veteran serving in the US Navy Seabees and retired from 3M Co.
He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Laurens, the Rouse Sunday School Class, and the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce.
Surviving are two children, Robert Edward Freeman and wife Lyn and Faye Freeman Burgess and husband John all of Laurens; one brother, Henry Lee Freeman of Bryans Road, MD; four grandchildren, Nathan Burgess, Nathan Reese, Tim Reese, and Sarah Reese Tavenner; and four great grandchildren, Ezra Reese, Emma Reese, Troy Tavenner and Eli Tavenner.
He was predeceased by two brothers and one sister.
