Essie Blanche Bass, 76, of Boggy Creek Road, Kissimmee, passed away Saturday evening after a lengthy illness. Member of a pioneer Central Florida family, she was the widow of C. C. "Lum" Bass, prominent cattleman and citrus grower and former Osceola County Commissioner, who died here in 1952.

Born December 30, 1887, in Orange County, the daughter of John Crawford Bass and Mary M. Simmons Bass, she had been a resident of Osceola County most of her life. She was a member of the First Methodist Church and was a Past Noble Grand of Kissimmee Rebekah Lodge Number 42.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. J. Oscar Tyson, Kissimmee; also 2 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives in this area..

Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday from the Grissom Chapel, with the Rev. B. B. Williams, Minister of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Casketbearers were Messrs. M. A. Hughey, Sam Lupfer, Henry T. Simmons and Leon Tyson. Interment followed in Rose Hill Cemetery. Grissom Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
