Robert E. "Bobby" Adams, 56, of Savannah, Georgia, husband of Kieran Russell Adams, died Monday morning, March 2, 2009, at Hospice Savannah. Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late George Wilmot Adams and the late Florence Counihan Adams. Mr. Adams was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He was retired after thirty years of loyal service with the Georgia Air National Guard at the field training site in Savannah. Mr. Adams was a Saint Patrick's Day Parade Committee member who worked with the adjutant's staff for many years. Bobby touched the lives of many young people through his passion for coaching with the Southside Raiders Youth Organization. Surviving are his wife of thirty-three years, Kieran Russell Adams of Savannah, Georgia; one daughter, Kieran Adams, of Savannah, Georgia; two sons, Brian Adams, of Savannah, Georgia, Christopher Adams and his wife, Amanda, of Statesboro, Georgia; one brother, George W. "Billy" Adams, Jr., of Charleston, South Carolina; two nieces, Sarah Taylor and her husband, Craig, and Erin Adams, all of Savannah, Georgia; two nephews, John E. Adams of Charleston, South Carolina, and Kevin Adams of Savannah, Georgia; one grand niece, Eden Taylor and one grand nephew, Hayden Taylor, both of Savannah, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Tuesday at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue, with the Vigil service being held at 6 o'clock conducted by The Reverend Patrick S. O'Brien. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church conducted by The Reverend Benjamin Dallas. Interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be sent to Hospice Savannah, Post Office Box #13190, Savannah, Georgia 31416-0190, St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation, 11705 Mercy Boulevard, Savannah, Georgia 31419 or St. Mary's Home, 2170 East Victory Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31404.
