Major League Baseball Player. Nicknamed "Snake", he was a right handed pitcher for 10 seasons (1955 to 1964), with the New Yankees, Kansas City Athletics, Boston Red Sox, Washington Senators, Pittsburg Pirates, Detroit Tigers and New York Mets. He made his debut with the Yankees on April 14, 1955 and won 6 games for the Yankees in three World Series, 1955 to 1957. He ended his career with 59 wins, 51 losses, 704 strikeouts and a 3.74 earned run average in 335 games. After his career in baseball, he worked as a freight manager for several trucking companies. Later he joined the Board of Directors for Metro Tech in Oklahoma City and for Integris Hospice of Oklahoma County.
