Thomas R. McManus, 44 years of age, agent of the United States Secret Service Department in San Antonio died suddenly at 4:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at his home, 547 Goliad Street. He had been ill recently, but had recovered sufficiently to go to his office. Apparently he was feeling well Wednesday, but, after returning home in the afternoon he complained of feeling badly, and died a few minutes later, before medical help arrived.
Mr. McManus was a native of Boston and had been connected with the secret service for the last twenty years. He came to San Antonio a year ago, to take charge of the work of the department in this territory. He is survived by his widow in this city, two brothers in New York and two sisters in Philadelphia. Mr McManus was a member of Milwaukee lodge No. 46, Order of Elks and the Elks of this city will conduct the funeral services.
