AYNOR: Mrs. ILa Martin Edwards, 87, wife of the late James F. Edwards, passed away Friday November 16, 2007 at Conway Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Edwards was born August 16, 1920 in Galivants Ferry, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Joseph and Inez Crawford Martin. She was a member of Aynor United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Edwards was predeceased by three sisters, Mabel Roberts, Ruth Martin, and Oteen Gasque; and one brother, Joseph Martin.
Surviving are one son, Jimmy Edwards of Aynor; two daughters, Barbara Barnhill of Columbia and Pearl Reynolds of Conway; three sisters, Exa Martin of Florence, Dorothy Brigham of Myrtle Beach, and Lois Herring of Marion; seven grandchildren, Keith Edwards of Conway, Jimmy Ray Edwards of Galivants Ferry, and Preston Barnhill , Michael Barnhill , Debbie Dorn, and Denise Roof, all of Columbia, and Penny Todd of Aynor; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2007 at the Aynor United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dennis Mardis officiating. Burial will follow in the Aynor Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2007 at Johnson Funeral Home, 290 Ninth Avenue, Aynor.
