LEANDER KOCHER, 78, CALLED BY DEATH -- Death Claims Local Resident Following Eight Month Illness --
Leander Kocher, life long resident of Danville, died at his home at 754 East Market street last evening at 6:30 o'clock at the age of 78.
A native of Mahoning township, Mr. Kocher spent practically his entire life in Danville. For many years he was employed as an iron worker and later in the laundry at the Danville State Hospital, retiring in 1931.
He had been in failing health for the past eight months and was confined to his bed for a week prior to his death, which was due to infirmities of old age.
He was a member of the Evangelical church and the P. O. S. of A., lodge in Riverside. His wife preceded him in death four years ago.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Verda Morgan, with whom he lived, three grand children, Mrs. C. R. Daubert, Hartleton; Daniel Morgan and Bernard Kirdendall, Danville, and one great grandchild.
Funeral Services will be held at the home on East Market street Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with burial in the Odd Fellows cemetery. The Rev. R. S. Daubert, pastor of the Evangelical church will officiate. W. S. Fermier is the funeral director. Friends may call Tureday evening at the residence.
