Tonya Michelle Sapp Hames is the wife of Stephen Boyd Hames of Ladson, SC, formerly of Laurens, SC. She is the mother of Christian Michael Hames of Ladson, SC. She is the daughter of Melda Fuller Sapp-von Klebs of Ladson, SC, and the late Robert Elbert Sapp and the step-daughter of Albert von-Klebs (Alvin Klebs) of Ladson, SC, and the step-sister of the late Curtis Leroy Klebs.
Tonya was born on October 10, 1973 at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood, SC. She lived in Cross Hill, SC for many years before moving to Laurens, SC, where she attend public schools there and graduated from Laurens District 55 High School as a member of the Class of 1991. Tonya moved from the Laurens area in May 1999 to the Charleston area of SC. Tonya is Class of 2001 graduate of Trident Technical College in N. Charleston, SC with an Associate of Arts in Business, Class of 2012 graduate of Park University with an Associate of Science in Management, and Class of 2013 graduate of Park University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management / Human Resources.
Tonya is a member of the Olde Charlestowne Sertoma Club & the Camp Sertoma of SC Sertoma Club. She serves as the Camp Sertoma Trustee for the Ft. Sumter District holding a position on the Camp Sertoma Executive Board since 2005. She is a past member of the Azalea Sertoma Club where she served as VP of Programs, Sergeant-at-Arms, and B-League Cheerleading Commissioner. She is a former employee of the SC Department of Disabilties and Special Needs, Coastal Regional Center in Ladson, SC; SC Department of Transportation, Charleston Maintenance Shop in N. Charleston, SC; Park University Charleston Air Force Base Campus Center in Charlreston, SC; Associated Marine Institutes at Piedmont Wilderness Institute in Clinton, SC, Camp White Pines in Jonesville, SC, and Charleston Marine Institute in Mt. Pleasant, SC; and Ashley Marina in Charlesotn, SC. She was a charter member of the Ashley Ridge High School AFJROTC Booster Club where she is a past-treasurer. She is also a member of the Find A Grave community since 2005 where she is the County Keeper emeritus for Dorchester County, SC.
Tonya has been preceded in death by her father, Robert Elbert Sapp, and step-brother, Curtis Leroy Klebs, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
