WELL KNOWN FARMER DEAD

SAMUEL A. YORK, PROMINENT ARTHUR FARMER DIED IN CHICAGO SATURDAY FOLLOWING AN OPERATION FOR STOMACH TROUBLE. MR. YORK WAS BORN NEAR WAVERLY IN 1849 AND CAME TO ARTHUR WHEN A YOUNG MAN.
HE WAS ONE OF THE BEST KNOWN AND MOST EXTENSIVE LAND OWNERS NEAR ARTHUR. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE METHODIST CHURCH AND A PROMINENT MASON.
HE LEAVES A WIDOW AND SIX CHILDREN, LILLLIAN, CUNDIFF, WILBUR, GUY, WALTER, STELLA AND LESTER ALL OF ARTHUR.
THE FUNERAL SERVICES WERE CONDUCTED IN THE FAMILY RESIDENCE 1 1/2 MILE NORTHWEST OF ARTHUR, MONDAY AFTERNOON BY REV. E.K. CREWS. MUSIC WAS FURNISHED BY MARION WATSON, F. R. MCDONALD, MISS LOUISE MILES AND MRS. JOE KANITZ. THE PIANIST WAS MRS. MARION WATSON. THE MASONIC SERVICES WERE HELD IN THE HOME OWING TO THE INCLIMENT WEATHER, D. E. BRUFFET, DEPUTY GRAND LECTURER, DELIVERED THE ADDRESSS. PALLBEARERS WERE CHARLES ROBINSON, OLIVER HOWELL, LON MORRIS, E. F. CAHILL, FRED BECKMAN, JAMES LAWRENCE.
BURIAL WAS IN ARTHUR CEMETERY.
