Figard, Thomas A.
At the home on N. 3rd st., Bellwood, Thomas A. Figard, died at 5:45 Tues. evening, of pneumonia. Mr. Figard had been ill for some time, having contracted grip which developed into the disease that caused his death. Mr. Figard was a son of Amos and Hannah Figard and was born at Rock Hill, Huntingdon co., Feb. 28, 1850. He was married at Broad Top City to Teressa Frances Sheeder. 28 years ago Mr. and Mrs. Figard came to Bellwood and he entered the employ of the Bellwood Manufacturing company. For the past 13 years he had been an employee of the Kerbaugh plant. He was a faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal church, a quiet, consistent Christian, beloved by a host of friends.
Surviving are his wife and 5 children: Mrs. Harry Thomas, Fostoria; Mrs. Samuel Enyeart, Juniata; Charles E. and Harvey E., of Bellwood and Oscar S ., Tyrone. 3 sisters also survive: Mrs. Mary J. Trout, Columbus, O.; Mrs. Kate Sechrist, Orbisonia and Mrs. Etta Sheeder, Woodvale.
The funeral service will be held in the Methodist Episcopal church at 2 p.m. Thurs., conducted by his pastor, Rev. S.S. Carnell. Interment in Logan Valley cemetery.
