|Death: ||May 21, 1958|
Killed in an Auto Accident. Graduated from Allen Grade School, Allen, Kansas. Was a freshman student at Northern Heights High School, Allen, Kansas, when she was killed.
Donna Jean was an only child of Esther & Everett Fee. She was a gifted student, "A" honor roll student and played the clarinet. She died in the hospital two weeks after the accident (as I recall) which was on a Lyon County, Kansas road. The driver of the car was a fellow classmate at Northern Heights High School, Marjorie Ann Lowder.
Marjorie was driving her brother's 1957 White Mercury convertible with red leather seat covers when she hit gravel on the side of the road. The white Mercury convertible was towed into Allen to a body shop which drew alot of attention from townspeople. Marjorie was not killed, but ultimately she was killed in a one car accident in which she was driving in 1984 (26 years almost to the day after Donna Jean was killed) and Marjorie is also buried in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia. Donna Jean was buried in a light blue dress in a silver casket and a great many people attended the service at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia, Kansas. She was buried under a tree, awaiting the arrival of her parents who were ultimately buried on each side of her.
