Dorothy Lee (Goedicke) Uptegraph, 70, of Plumcreek Township, Armstrong County, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at Indian Haven in Indiana, Pa. She was born May 26, 1938, in Leechburg, to George F. and Margaret G. (Manners) Goedicke.

Mrs. Uptegraph was a member of Boiling Springs Presbyterian Church in Spring Church. Dorothy was a longtime resident of Plumcreek Township and also a previous resident of Spring Church.

In addition to being a homemaker, she had been employed with the former Robert Shaw's of Indiana, Pa. She also drove a school van for Stewart Van Lines, until retiring in 1988, when she began to travel for several years with her husband, interstate trucking across the United States. She later returned to work as a cashier for D&K of Kittanning and Trader Horn of Indiana, Pa., until her second retirement.

A 1957 graduate of Apollo High School, she enjoyed doing word puzzles and velvet painting.

She is survived by her son, William L. Uptegraph and his wife, Theresa, of Avonmore; two daughters, Carla Witters and her husband, Bobby Jr., of Whitesburg, and Peggy Cook and her husband, Keith, of Shelocta; six grandchildren, Sarah Witters Dunmire and her husband Kevin, Katie Witters, Justin Cook and his wife Justtina, Heather Cook, Jonathan Uptegraph and his wife Jessica, and Lee Ann Uptegraph; three great-granddaughters; two stepgreat-granddaughters; and a sister, Kae Lynn Kovalcik and her husband, Clement, of Leechburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis V. Uptegraph, whom she married July 16, 1960, and who died April 24, 1993; and two infant granddaughters, Christy Witters and her twin sister.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the CLARK CHAPEL OF BAUER FUNERAL HOME, Elderton, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Terri Swails officiating.

Interment to follow in Ridge View Cemetery, Elders Ridge, Indiana County.
