Ann Smith Ewy, 96, died April 28, 1995, at the Perry, OK, Green Valley Nursing Home. Her funeral was held on Monday, April 30, 1995 at Zion Lutheran Church, east of Perry, Oklahoma and she was buried at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, east of Perry.
Mrs. Ewy was born March 30, 1899, in Perry, to Peter and Margaret (Ritthaler) Smith. She attend schools in Noble County and married Rudolf (Rudolph) A. Ewy on Feb. 12, 1917 in Perry. Mrs. Ewy worked at the Corner Lunch (Perry) and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and W.E.L.C.A.
Her husband preceded her in death (August, 1961). She was survived by three daughters, two sons, three brothers, 20 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
She also was a wonderful grandmother who crocheted numerous afghans for her kids and grandkids. She also introduced them to her version of an old German dish, which she called "Hulliburgers," made from hamburger, sausage, sauerkraut and potatoes.
