US Navy LTJG Daniel McCarthy Mann, Vietnam Veteran and Native of Waukegan, Illinois.
US Navy Lieutenant junior grade Daniel McCarthy Mann was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Navy Reserve, LTJG Mann served our country until April 7th, 1967 in Quang Tri, South Vietnam. He was 24 years old and was married. It was reported that Daniel died from multiple fragmentation wounds. His body was recovered. Daniel was born on July 3rd, 1942 in Waukegan, Illinois. LTJG Mann is on panel 17E, line 117 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for 2 years.
LTJG Daniel McCarthy Mann served with Kilo Platoon, Seal Team One, Task Force-116, USNAVFORV.
He was awarded the Special Warfare Operations Medal, The Purple Heart Medal, The National Defense Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Vietnam Campaign Medal, The Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation and the Republic of Vietnam Navy Service Medal.
