BLUFFTON--Mahlon D. Brown, 73, Bluffton, died at 10:15 p.m. Sunday at the Clinic Hospital, Bluffton. He had been ill for three years.
Mr. Brown was a retired carpenter.
He is survived by the widow, Mildred; five sons, including Robert Brown of Marion; six daughters, one sister, 24 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Baptist Church in Bluffton. The Rev. Joe Elliott will officiate and burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery, Huntington County. Friends may call at the Thoma Funeral Home, Bluffton.

Surviving in addition to his wife the former Mildred Beal, are four sons, six daughters, one sister, 24 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Thoma Funeral Home, Bluffton, from 7 p.m. Monday until noon Wednesday when the body will be moved the the Baptist Church Bluffton, for services at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Joe Elliott will officiate, and burial will be in the Lancaster Cemetery, Huntington County.

Mahlon D. Brown, 73, of 316 South Wayne St., died at 10:15 p.m. Sunday at Clinic Hospital. Death, due to cancer, followed an illness of three years.
Born Dec. 8, 1896 in Grant County, he was a son of Charles and Clara Love Brown. His marriage to Mildred Beal, who survives, took place in 1919 at Warren.
Mr. Brown, a resident of Wells County 38 years, was a carpenter and a member of the First Baptist Church and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters.
Surviving are four sons, Marvin of Valparaiso, Robert of Marion, Larry of Franklin and Carl of St. Petersburg, Fla.; six daughters, Mrs. Maxine Baumann and Mrs. Richard (Helen) Schnitz, both of Decatur, Mrs. Donald (Bertha Jean) Malson of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Scott (Doris) Alexander of Franklin, Mrs. Jerry (Linda) Higgins of Richardson, Tex., and Mrs. Phillip (Judith) Hoopingarner of Ossian.
A sister, Mrs. Gale (Nellie) Roe of Fort Wayne, 24 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the Thoma Funeral Home.
