Dies At Residence
Guilford Winkler, for over 70 years a resident of Johnson County, died at his home, 650 East Ohio Street, Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock. For the past four years he had been confined to his bed.
The body has been taken to the Vandivier Mortuary where funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The Rev, Otho Hayse, of Indianapolis, will officiate and burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 o'clock Monday evening and after 10 o'clock Tuesday morning until time for service and to attend the rites.
The son of Lewis and Emily White Winkler, he was born in Estill County, Kentucky, April 8, 1871. When he was eight years of age the family moved to Johnson County and after his marriage to Rebecca Betner on April 30, 1904 they moved to Franklin where the remainder of his life was spent.
Mr. Winkler was engaged in landscaping and grading with his brother, the late Arch Winkler, for many years.
He is survived by two sons, Hubert Winkler and Norman Winkler, both of Franklin; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren; and two brothers, Oda Winkler and Joseph Winkler, both of Rush County.
Mr. Winkler was a member of the Union Christian Church.
