Two of the French decorations were awarded to him by Marshal Ferdinand Foch personally.
Commendations were awarded by General Charles P. Summerall, General John J. Pershing and Senator Tom Connally. Letters of Commendation are in his file from General MacArthur and General Buck; Presidents Wilson, President Truman and President Roosevelt. The Certificate of Service was awarded by Governors Sterling, Allred, Jester and Shivers, and Congressman Albert Thomas.
