Mary was known to most as Doris. She married Joel Swanger DeWitt, Sr in 1913 in Browning. They had one son Joel. They lived nearby in Sullivan County, Kansas City, St. Louis, and finally back in Meadville in the late 1940s through the 1970s. Doris and Joel worked for the Meadville school district in the cafeteria.
