William S. Sturdevant, 67, died Friday at the Manor Rest Home, Halfway. he was in ill health for about one year. He was born in Lantz, Maryland the son of Calvin J. and Florence Sturdevant. He lived his early life in Lentz. Following his marriage on December 22, 1914, to Rhoda Susan West he moved to Cascade where he resided 42 years. following the death of his wife, on March 16, 1954, he had been spending most of his time with his daughter Margaret Brown, in Waynesboro. The deceased was at one time employed by the shops in Waynesboro. His last 13 working years were spent working for Fairchild Aircraft Division in Hagerstown as a sheet metal worker. He was a member of the Foxville Lutheran Church, Pen Mar Council, Junior OUAM, Cascade, the IOOF at Thurmont and the Independent Order of Owls, Waynesboro. Besides his daughter , Mrs. brown, he is survived by a sister Mrs. Effie (Charles) Miner of Hagerstown. services are this afternoon from the Grove Funeral Home in Waynesboro with interment at the Germantown Bethel Cemetery, Cascade , Maryland.
