John Ings-Daysh was the 6th of 14 children to John and Elizabeth (nee Clark) Ing-Daysh - see links below ...
He was 7 months old when, along with his parents and 5 siblings, they emigrated to New Zealand on the GERTRUDE in October 1841.
They all settled in Taita, Lower Hutt.
John married Elizabeth Frew Tannahill, who was born in Taita of parents from Scotland.
He was 23 and she was 18.
They had 10 children in the Wairarapa from 1863 to 1885.
He died aged 91 in Greytown, 26 years after her and they are buried together.
