Married Elisabeth Ann Souder, daughter of Georg Fredrich & Christina (Walter) Souder, in 1845 in US after immigrating to the US in 1838 aboard the Xylon from LeHarve, France. Moving through New York and Pennsylvania to settle in Portsmouth, Ohio. Father of 11 known children, and he was a farmer.
