Henry was a son of Marcus Sawyer Anglin and Julia Ann Boyer. He led a short life, and little is known of him, including the exact location of his burial. This is the cemetery's oldest section, with gravestones as old as 1882, and nothing more recent than 1927, and there are no records.
We believe the gravestone pictured here is Henry's, though the stone itself is unreadable. It is the only gravestone left standing in this section of the cemetery which is unreadable, and it stands beside that of William G. Anglin, who would have been his younger brother.
The process of investigation included scrubbing the upper portion clean of lichen using plain water and a soft brush, and lifting the fragment out of the mud and cleaning both sides in the same way. We know there must have been an inscription, because the words "At Rest" are clearly visible at the top of the upright fragment, but that is all, and the other fragment was so weathered we cannot be sure it even fit together with the other.
Henry L. Anglin RIP.
