Nathan Hans Stoeppler was born at home in Shafter, California, the fourth of eight children of Lynette and Andrew Stoeppler. He was the only boy in the family. He is my nephew, born a few months earlier than my own son.
Nathan grew up in a close-knit family and was part of an active church community. He had a strong relationship with his dad. On his profession of Christian faith, he was baptized into the body of believers in his early teens.
Nathan was an active, but somewhat quiet young man, but sometimes one could get a little smile out of him. I'm sure he held his own with his three older and four younger sisters! He was home-schooled and worked with the family on their rural property, helping with gardens and working on the house. He loved hunting. The family took a lot of camping trips and traveled to visit relatives in other parts of the country.
Nathan developed severe headaches when he was 14, and was diagnosed with a brain tumor. In spite of surgery, the tumor grew aggressively. In a few weeks following the surgery, the tumor had grown back. He died where he had been born, at home, about six weeks before what would have been his 15th birthday. He left his seven sisters, his parents, aunts and uncles, two grandmothers, many cousins, and numerous friends.
There will be a new Heaven, and a new Earth, and at that time we will see each other again. And all the tears will be wiped from our eyes.
THANK YOU to Rhonda Poynter for highlighting Nathan's memorial on her profile, and Thank YOU all for visiting here. I wish I could thank you all personally, but know that you are blessed for any small act of kindness.
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Psalm 116:15
