Grandma Freda left behind two daughters, Charlotte (Russ) Rader and Virginia (Jerry) Richardson, one granddaughter, Jane (Mitch) Fiscus, three grandsons, David (Michelle) Rader, Daniel (Teresa) Richardson and Ronald (Lisa) Rader. She also left behind her precious and beloved nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
Freda Ruth accepted Jesus Christ as a young girl, and she was able to show her sweetheart, Charley, the truth about the Gospel. During her long life, she trusted Christ and claimed her life-long favorite Bible verse, Acts 16:31 "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."
She led a godly life before her family, friends and co-workers at RCA in Bloomington, always looking for someone who was in need that she could help and someone who needed the help that only Christ could give. Because of her and Grandpa Charley's godly witness, her entire family has accepted Christ.
Grandma Freda was talented in many things, but probably the talent that most impressed those who knew her was her ability to sight-read music and to sing any song the very first time she tried it. As an adult she taught herself to play the piano. She and Grandpa Charley sang duets in Church and at funerals well into their 80's. Freda also taught for Sunday school for 30 years.
Grandma Freda was such an important part of her family's life, and she'll be sorely missed, but she had been blind and very frail for some time, and because everyone in her family knows where she is now and how much better her life will be again, it is with great love, appreciation and sweet sadness that we all say goodbye to our precious mentor and example, Grandma Freda.
Services for Freda will be at the Valhalla Memorial Gardens Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Saturday February 14, 2009.
Allen Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
