Johanna M. Wichman, 92, Richmond, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at the Richmond Care Center. A funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Therese Catholic Church, Richmond.

She was born June 21, 1914, at Baileyville to Henry and Agnes (Bockerstette) Tangeman.

Johanna lived near Seneca, Kansas, moving to Valley Falls, Kansas in 1950, and Richmond, Kansas in 1967.

Johanna was a homemaker and prior to her marriage, worked as a housekeeper.

Johanna was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church and the Altar Society in Richmond, and former member of the Quilters` Guild.

On April 15, 1937, Johanna was united in marriage with Albert Joseph Wichman in the St. Benedict Community near Seneca, Kansas. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1995.

Survivors include daughter, Carol Bleything, and her husband, Richard, Lenexa; sons, Galen Wichman, and his wife, Peg, Richmond, Damian Wichman and his wife, Sandra, Spring Hill, and Daryl Wichman, and his wife, Janice, Manhattan; brothers, Leo Tangeman and Wilfred Tangeman, both of Seneca; 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by an infant son, Leslie Eugene Wichman; daughter, Louise Ann Wichman; sisters, Ethel Wichman and Rose Burdick; and brothers, Albert Tangeman, Vincent Tangeman and Lawrence Tangeman.

SERVICES: A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church in Richmond, Kansas, at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2007.

IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Wichman from 1 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday and 3 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa, where a Rosary will be said at 4:00 p.m. Monday followed by a family visitation at 4:30.

CEMETERY: St. Boniface Cemetery at Scipio.
