(Henry) Emil Kunkel, 95, a resident of The Dalles, died at a local care facility on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009.
He was born June 23, 1913, to Joseph Edwin and Winifred (Wright) Kunkel near Mound City, Mo. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wilma (Bunny), son Curtis, second wife, Alma and six siblings.
He is survived by his brother, Norman C. Kunkel, Seattle, many nieces and nephews, and longtime friend, Denny Swift, Cave Junction.
Memorial gifts can be sent to The Nature Conservancy or a charity of choice.
A burial was held at Odd Fellows Cemetery with arrangements under the care of Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home.
