Joseph was born in Kentucky the son of Morgan Wireman and Sarah "Sallie" Allen and the grandson of John and Rebecca (Carpenter) Wireman and John and Nancy Jane (Click) Allen. He first married Martha Carpenter. Their children are; Malinda Wireman, Morgan J. Wireman and Dora Ellen (Wireman) Wireman. On August 8, 1899 he married second wife Missouri Osborn, they had one daughter. On October 7, 1902 he married Margaret Wireman. Their children are; Johnny Wireman and Betty Wireman.
