FRENCH AND INDIAN WAR, pgs. 77, 78:
Led a company under Col. Abijah Willard. His men were from Bolton, Harvard, Lancaster and Leominster. According to a diary during the campaigns of 1759 and 1760 kept by Lemuel Wood of Boxford (which has been published by the Essex Institute Collections, XIX), he was in September "Dismessed ye Servis with Desgrace" for mutinous behavior.
THE LEXINGTON ALARM; pg. 115:
Captain Hastings serving under Col. John Whitcomb's Regiment led his company along with 2 other companies from Bolton (including Berlin district) on the march to Cambridge at the Lexington Alarm.
BUNKER HILL AND SEIGE OF BOSTON; pgs. 121, 122, 127:
Capt. Benjamin Hastings requests of Col. Asa Whitcomb that his company join his regiment since he's done duty with Whitcomb and declines joining any other.
