Adolphus and Catherine were killed in a car/train accident in Pendleton, Indiana on their way to visit Catherine's sister, Leona. They had been visiting relatives in Anderson and had stopped or were on their way to visit Kate's sister in Pendleton on their way home. Adolphus' nephew or cousin, Moses Carney who was with them also died as a result of the accident.

Thanks for this memorial. Adolphus and Katherine were my cousins. Moses was my uncle on my father's side. Dad talked about this accident, and we tried to find Moses's grave at Mount Union Cemetery, but there was no marker.
