Henry,with other relatives, was part of the 49er gold rush.His father Henry Dawson Swearingen,died at sea,returning to OHIO.By 1850 , Henry had immigrated to Nodaway Co. He served in the Union Army. Died of consumption[TB]His wife, Rhoda Stephenson Swearingen, mother,Mary Swearingen and brother Daniel,are also buried here.
