Mrs. Doss was the wife of the World War II hero and Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, Desmond T. Doss. The Illinois native was the valedictorian of her high school class. She had been a Piedmont resident for the past four years where she was a charter member of Piedmont Seventh-day Adventist Church and was a retired accountant from the Wildwood, Georgia Hospital. Mrs. Doss was a published author, world traveler and ham radio operator. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wesley Duman; her second husband, Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Desmond T. Doss; and a daughter, Marilyn Shadduck. Mrs. Doss died at age 87 at Piedmont Health Care Center.
