Christoffel Davids was born Sep 3, 1616 in Bisscohopwyck, England and died in 1680 in Kingston, Ulster County, New York about the age of 64.
His first wife was Cornelia DeVos, who was born in 1626 and died Feb 27, 1657. She was the daughter of Andries deVos and Margritje Coeymans, who were married on Mar 9, 1624/25.
His second wife was Maria Martensen, whom he married in 1664. She died after 1670.
He came to America in 1636 to the Massachusettes Bay Colony, and settled at Fort Orange (now Albany), New York.
His nickname was "Kit." He was a captain in the Eusopus Indian Wars of 1652, and was also an Indian interpreter.
