Emma Ona Smith of Manassas, Va., passed Wednesday January 28, 2009 after a long struggle with multiple medical problems.

Born May 17, 1925 in Newport, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Nola McGaha Green. Emma married Joe T. Smith, on July 19, 1946, in Tennessee.

She is survived by her daughter, Patsy Harbour, of Cocoa Beach, Fla. and her two sons, James C. Smith, of Brightwood, Va. and Bobby Smith, of Midland, Va. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Francis Lee Smith, of Hartford Tennessee and her husband, Joe T. Smith, who died March 14, 1995. Emma is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, great- grand-children, many nieces, nephews, and friends. This world is a better place because she lived.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 2, 2009 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Baker-Post Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Rd. Manassas, Va. A celebration of life will begin at 10:30 in the Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Carter Officiating. Interment will follow in Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas, Va.

The family requests that memorial contributions may take the form of a donation to the needy in your community or a church organization of your choice.
