He was born in Brunswick County, February 13, 1907, the son of the late Thomas and Mary Caison McDowell, and was the husband of Mrs. Gladys Reynolds McDowell. He was a member of the Long Leaf Baptist Church and was employed by the Southern Oil Transportation Company as a serviceman.
Survivors besides his widow include one half sister, Mrs. J. C, Curnes, Pagelend, S.C., and one brother, Jack McDowell, Bolivia.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p m. at the Long Leaf Baptist Church by the Rev. M. E. Gibson. Burial will be in the Robbins Cemetery near Mill Creek in Brunswick County.
Visitation will be at Coble's Oleander Chapel until 1:30 p.m. Friday at which time the body will be taken to the church for the services.
