H. J. FANT DIES IN COLUMBUS HOSPITAL

A report by telephone today from Mr. J. E. Fant, local barber, who has been in Columbus, Ga., for the past several days, to Mr. J. E. Cutler, local undertaker, stated that Homer J. Fant, who has been ill with influenza and pneumonia in a Columbus hospital for the past two weeks, died there at 8:45 a.m. today.
The body will reach LaFayette tonight at 6:18 over the Central of Georgia Railway Company, and funeral service will probably be held some time Thursday from the Mountain Spring Church near Wadley.
The deceased was taken ill Sunday afternoon January 6, after making a trip to Columbus and was unable to return. He was moved to a hospital from a hotel there on Monday January 7. Mrs. Fant was notified of his illness on Monday and left immediately. She was present at the bedside when the end came.
He is survived by his wife, mother, several brothers and sisters and a number of other close relatives and friends. Robinson & Cutler will be in charge of funeral arrangements.
