Kay Ann (Parks)Patten was born to Homer Lee Parks and Esther June Patten. She was born as a Downs Syndrom Child.
She was cared for by her mother and father and all of her grandparents. She had a lot of special needs and ended up living with her maternal grandparents,Tom and Emma Patten.
When she turned 16 yrs of age Tom and Emma adopted her ,as her father Homer told me, this was in the best interest for Kay!! That Tom and Emma could give her everything she would ever need or want, and made sure she was very well took care of even after their deaths.
Kay is my oldest sister, and I am proud to say this. I thank the man above for letting her be in my life for 49 yrs. Kay is the child that never grew up! Everyday was a new day and a challenge and exciting day for Kay, she viewed Life threw a child's eyes. After her grandparents deaths she moved back to her mother's home. Kay and Lee had a bond that will never be broken. Kay and my baby brother Lee were very close, Kay always had a million Questions to ask and she would go to Lee for the answers. He would give her the answers and then she would put her hands on her hips and say How Do You Know Smarty Pants how do you know!!
If Kay Ann ever met you she always remembered you, regardless if you were family or friends or a total stranger passing by. I use to tell her she was one of the Luckiest girls on earth and she would say but why Misty and I would tell her because Everyone Loves Kay!!
I would also like to Thank James Snow Kay's cousin for starting this Memorial for Kay and for transferring it to me. James knew Kay and Kay knew James she never forgot a face and if she was here today she would give you a big Hug and say Thank You for Loving Me !!
