Carrie married her husband at age 17 and pregnant. They stopped living together but never divorced around 1911. Carrie then lived in New Bedford with her sons and took in people's laundry to earn money. Carrie died while visiting her son Wilfred at 38 Pine Hill Rd. Westport of a cerebral hemorrhage. Carrie was sitting in the front room, by the wood stove, said she had a headache and blood started coming out of her mouth and ears. The Dr. was called but nothing could be done. Carrie was only 51 and her own mother died of the same cause around the same age.
